Buéa

Buea or Buea is a town in Cameroon located at the foot of Mount Cameroon, an active volcano, at an altitude of 1,000 meters. it is the capital of the southwestern region of the country.

Its cool climate led the Germans to make it the capital of Cameroon from 1901 to 1914. German Governor Jesko von Puttkamer had a sumptuous residence built there, a veritable immense castle whose rather Bavarian architecture seems absurd in this tropical setting. The “Governor’s Palace”, as it is called, is the real attraction of this British-style city.
